About Our Hackathon

The 305 Fall Hackathon is a collaborative innovation event organized by Code Crunch, ColorStack, and CAHSI at Florida International University. Our mission is to foster creativity, technical growth, and community building through exciting coding challenges focused on Smart City Innovation.

Whether you're a seasoned developer or just starting your coding journey, our hackathon provides the perfect environment to learn, create, and connect with like-minded individuals.

How to Participate

Join the 305 Fall Hackathon as a hacker or volunteer

Register Online

Fill out our registration form with your details and project idea (if you have one). Registration is free and open to all university students.

Form or Join a Team

You can participate solo or with a team of up to 4 members. Don't have a team? No problem! Join our team formation event or use our Discord channel to find teammates.

Attend the Kickoff

Join the opening ceremony where we'll announce the hackathon tracks, challenges, and provide all the information you need to get started.

Hack, Learn & Submit

Build your project within the hackathon timeframe, attend workshops, connect with mentors, and submit your project before the deadline.

Mentor

Share your expertise and guide participants through technical challenges. Help teams troubleshoot issues and provide valuable feedback.

Find answers to common questions about the 305 Fall Hackathon

A hackathon is a marathon software product creation event. At our hackathons, you can look forward to amazing guest speakers, helpful workshops, skilled mentors, and, of course, fun games and great swag.
Any undergraduate or graduate student from any university worldwide can participate. We welcome students from all majors and backgrounds, not just computer science.
No, our hackathon is completely free for all participants! We aim to make this event accessible to everyone interested.
Teams are not required to sign up, and you can join solo. You'll have opportunities to form teams at our Team Formation events or on the Discord server. Teams can have up to 4 members.
No problem! Our hackathon is designed for all skill levels. We provide workshops, mentors, and resources to help beginners. It's a great opportunity to learn and improve your skills.
For in-person events, bring your laptop, charger, student ID, and any personal items you might need. For overnight events, consider bringing toiletries, a change of clothes, and a sleeping bag or blanket.
Unfortunately, we do not provide travel stipends at this time. However, we encourage participants to explore funding options through their universities or local organizations.
Projects will be evaluated based on innovation, technical complexity, adherence to track challenges, presentation quality, and overall impact. Each track will have dedicated judges with expertise in the respective field.
