SummerCodeX is a week-long virtual hackathon focused on XR (Extended Reality), Web3, Blockchain, and Decentralization. It's open to students from all universities and all majors, challenging participants to build innovative projects using cutting-edge technologies in just 7 days.
All university students from ANY institution worldwide and high school students (16+) are welcome! You don't need to be a tech major - we welcome students from all disciplines. The hackathon accommodates all skill levels, from beginners to advanced developers.
No prior experience required! We'll provide resources, tutorials, and mentorship to help you get started. Many successful projects come from teams learning these technologies for the first time during the hackathon.
No! SummerCodeX is completely free for all participants. We are committed to making cutting-edge technology accessible to everyone.
The Tech Unicorn Track is perfect for non-coders! You can create business pitches, prototypes using no-code tools, paper mockups, or business plans. Focus on innovation, market potential, and solving real problems rather than coding complexity.
You can register solo or with a team of up to 4 members. Solo participants can join our Discord team formation channels to connect with others. We encourage diverse teams mixing different skills and backgrounds.
Participants get access to mentors via Discord, workshops on XR/Web3/AI technologies, starter templates, API keys for various services, and comprehensive documentation. We'll also have 24/7 technical support during the event.
Projects are evaluated on innovation, technical implementation, theme alignment, presentation quality, and potential impact. Each track has specialized judges with expertise in the respective technologies.
